Designer Fabrics & Wallpaper Add Elegance in the #OneRoomChallenge

DecoratorsBest in the OneRoomChallenge

This spring, DecoratorsBest was thrilled to sponsor the biannual #OneRoomChallenge, hosted by Linda at Calling It Home. Eight talented bloggers used fabric, wallpaper and pillows from our site to add color, depth and texture to their spaces. To us, it’s fascinating to see the way even small doses of designer products can lend sophistication and elegance to any room, no matter the size or setting.

Yesterday was the final reveal, and we couldn’t wait to see how each blogger put our products to use!

Vanessa Francis - Schumacher Agadir Screen wallpaper in Noir - One Room Challenge 2015

In this updated bathroom by Vanessa Francis, Schumacher’s Agadir Screen Noir wallpaper was the starting point for a bold black and white color scheme. The round mirror and sconce plates mimic the subtle floral shape found within the pattern.

Jana Bek Design - Schumacher Betwixt in Leaf Blanc - One Room Challenge 2015

Jana Bek of Bek Design didn’t want to reupholster the sofa in her great room, so she punched it up with a mix of floral and geometric patterns by Schumacher. She slipcovered dated leather armchairs in white linen and tied them into the color scheme with another geometric pillow, also made with Schumacher fabric.

The Pursuit of Style - Phillip Jeffries Manila Hemp wallpaper in Peacock Blue - One Room Challenge 2015

Hemp adds texture and dimension to any space – don’t limit yourself to walls! Lindsay Souza used Manila Hemp Peacock Blue wallpaper by Phillip Jeffries to wrap custom nightstands in her clients’ bedroom, sealing it to protect against spills. Grasscloth and other natural materials can be coated with lacquer, but we’d recommend testing with a small piece first.

For a sophisticated floral element in her assistant’s laidback bedroom, Kirsten Grove of Simply Grove mounted a piece of Cole & Son’s Peonie Beige wallpaper. We love this project as a creative way to use extra wallpaper remnants! Try using leftover trim or a large picture frame to create your own custom piece of art.
