Summer is nearly here, and we’re ready to soak up the sun and add warm-weather decor to our homes. Get inspired by these California celeb homes that have superb summer style!
When designers Estee Stanley and Mat Sanders set to redecorate the outdoor space at Lea Michele’s Los Angeles home she said, “The two things I wanted were to add color and to make it more comfortable.” The color palette, which was done in refreshing pastels with a pop of teal, work for both spring and summer. “I probably would not have picked the robin’s egg blue at first sight, but now that it’s there, it’s perfect.” says Michele (Quotes via Domaine Home).
When he moved to his Hollywood Hills home, singer-songwriter John Legend enlisted the help of designer Don Stewart to transform the grounds and interiors. His terrace, which is surrounded by lush trees, is a secluded place to relax–a large sectional sofa & day bed offer plenty of room to stretch out while outdoor pillows in varying textures add comfort.
Whitney Port’s home in L.A. is the first one she’s shared with a guy, so she had to alter things a bit. “My old apartments were pretty feminine, but this is more subdued and neutral.” Her eye as a fashion designer (see her fabulous closet below) helped her incorporate lots of texture and ethnic patterns into her home, creating an airy, easy ambiance that’s very livable. “I just wanted it to feel comfortable and cozy.” says Port (Quotes via Domaine Home).
Will + Jada Pinkett Smith
Will & Jada Pinkett Smith’s highly secluded holiday home in California feels like it could be a Moroccan palace. Designer Stephen Samuelson gave the home an adobe style made special by handcrafted details and soft, organic forms. In the master bedroom, terracotta stucco walls fill the space with warmth and a bed covered in ethnic pillows looks even more grand with a mossy sheer fabric draped above it.
