2014 is upon us, and we’re excited to see what’s on the horizon in the design world. In remembrance of the 2013, we’ve narrowed down the most popular rooms that we featured in 2013. Check them out!
Brian Del Toro – Hampton’s Designer Showhouse 2013
This year’s Hamptons Designer Showhouse was alive with rooms inspired by nature. Brian del Toro’s contemporary room had our readers infatuated with his contemporary take on woodlands. From Cole & Son’s Wood Grain faux bois wallpaper to the pop of Brunschwig & Fils’ hibiscus petal drapery, this airy space tastefully brings the outdoors in.
Orchid & Ikats in the Home
A foreshadowing of 2014’s Color of the Year (Radiant Orchid), we saw our readers gravitate towards shades of purple and ethnic ikats. This room, that combines lavender grasscloth with eggplant purple ikats and a pop of orange, had you bewitched by its beauty.
Mix ‘n Match Dining
Perhaps it’s the foodie culture that’s been sweeping the nation, but this year we saw a huge interest in dining rooms. Moving away from the conventional look, our readers wanted a new way to eat in with a more contemporary dining room that mixes a variety of patterns. This particular space, a combination of traditional and modern, brought in a big response.
The runways saw an array of metallics this year, and we dazzled you with some metallic looks that are a cut above the rest. This bedroom had us all wanting to go with gold grasscloth from floor to ceiling.
Jennifer Duneier -Holiday House Hamptons Showhouse 2013
Readers couldn’t get enough of our Hamptons coverage this year. From our post on celebrity’s Hampton homes to the Holiday House Hamtpons Showhouse, we saw you flooding in to get a sneak peek into the lavish vacation houses and fresh designer looks. The eating area at the showhouse designed by Jennifer Duneier and entitled Summer Solstice was a vision in turquoise blurred florals and ikats.
