Black & white, the yin and yang of the color world, is trending in dining rooms of style leaders around the country. From florals to stripes, this color combination packs a bold punch that is oh-so-chic. Check out our favorite black & white dining room looks:
The Florals Have It
Black and white floral is unlike any other version of the pattern because it strikes the perfect balance between feminine and daring. We recommend paring it with color-blocked white and black leather dining chairs and a dark, rich table. We like the idea of using the black & white floral wallpaper just outside of the room so that your guests feel as if they’re walking under an archway of blossoms as they enter.
A classic black and white stripe is nearly all you need to make a dining area pop. Even if you don’t have a dining room that is located in a separate room, you can still cover two corner walls with the paper to section it off as a spot to eat at. For stripes this bold and contrasting, choose a thicker version with lines that are even in width. This keeps the look grounded and structured. York’s 3 Stripe wallpaper is a timeless pattern that works with both traditional and modern art.
A Pop of Color
A stark white background in a modern home looks great with black dining room decor, and it looks even better with a pop of high-voltage color like neon pink, emerald green or royal blue. Try using black suede on the front and seat of the chair, and the pop of color on the back of it. Balance out the intensity with clean-lined drapery or custom blinds in a misty tan hue.
A Touch of White Gold
Gilded touches work well with black and white motifs because they bring warmth to the space. We like a subtle white-gold that is slightly metallic. Try it in a trellis or geometric wallpaper with solid black linen or velvet drapes and chairs upholstered in thin black & white stripes.
