Many zebra prints because of its bold character, but the pattern can be subtle and elegant, too! Get the look with these easy and accessible ways to use zebra stripes in your home:
Most of the time when using a strong zebra print, you have to plan your room around it, keeping other details and accessories on the subtle side. With a barely there zebra wallpaper, you can reverse that mindset. Because of its inconspicuous nature, this sandy zebra stripe allows you to play up the color and details in the rest of your decor.
Misty Greys & Baby Blues
Dove grey and powdery blue zebra prints give traditional homes a modern update. Simple decor in a neutral palette of white or cream tones down the stripes, giving the room a restful, slightly ethereal balance.
Warm & Family-Friendly
Believe it or not, by simply altering the white and black zebra stripe to brown and cream, it takes on a completely different look, going from bold to mellow. As seen below, when used with warm pumpkin-toned chenille, floral, and stripes, a zebra couch in cocoa hues blends in, rather than popping out. This look is particularly nice for fall.
Dining Room Elegance
If you thought that ‘elegance’ and ‘zebra print’ would never be used in a sentence together, think again! Charcoal versions in a texture like linen or silk add fresh refinement to a room. Here we see it used as a table cloth against navy walls in Aerin Lauder’s dining room. Below that we see it upholstered onto 18th century chairs paired with chinoiserie drapery and eggplant purple walls.
