In light of Father’s Day, take a cue from this season’s top looks in men’s fashion and bring decor elements into your home that both you and the man in your life will love.
Lately, several shades of brown have been emerging in men’s fashion, especially in sandy hues. Ermenegildo Zegna’s Spring 2013 collection featured sharply tailored tan leather suiting paired with micro prints and sockless patent leather footwear. The look is a combination of retro and modern, which can be translated into decor with stainless steel mid-century modern Harvey Probber chairs covered in a caramel leather, an accent of metallic blue, and a polished black stacked table lamp with a black leather shade.
This season, tweed is being taken in a different direction in the fashion world. The traditionally heavy and masculine fabric has been lightened up for spring and combined with light weight fabrics, like linen and cotton blends, in mint and royal blue. Get this look in your home by using a fun green tweed on a sofa, a lightweight linen on a chair, light wood panel wallpaper, and white accents.
Neon Color Blocking
It looks like the color blocking trend is still going strong, but for the warmer months, we’re seeing it in neon hues. Mix acid yellow with textured fabrics like royal purple suede and silky red plaid to keep it feeling light yet masculine. This look is most man-friendly when used with approachable and easy furniture. We suggest revamping thrift store seating by reupholstering it in the bright hues.
